Welcome to the Harris County Auditor's Office.
The County Auditor's Office keeps the general accounting records; prepares financial reports; prescribes systems for the receipts and disbursements of the County; audits and processes accounting transactions for grants, payroll, and invoices; verifies compliance with governing laws; performs statutory reviews of records maintained by other officials; and prepares annual estimates of budgeted revenues.
The County Auditor's Office is pleased to provide a wide array of information, including County financial reports, an online public records request form, and information concerning the office. Michael Post began his employment with Harris County in 1996 as a Manager of IT Audits. Later, he served as Director of Audit Services, and most recently as First Assistant/Chief Assistant County Auditor. Prior experience includes serving as a business manager for a private school and as Director of Internal Audit for a public utility company. He also has experience working for a CPA firm. He is a CPA and has both an MBA and an MS degree in computer science.
